Job summary

16th Circuit in Lee's Summit, MO seeks a Cook for Support Services to prepare, season, cook, and serve nutritious meals for juvenile residents. You will follow daily menus, adjust portions, and ensure food safety and sanitation in a busy kitchen.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of institutional cooking experience. A valid driver's license may be required for designated meal delivery by van; background screenings apply.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent plus one year of institutional/cafeteria cooking experience.
  • Knowledge of nutritional requirements; knowledge of institutional food service operation.
  • Ability to operate a computer and read small print accurately.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for designated meals delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Review daily menus and plan preparation according to head count.
  • Prepare, season and cook soups, meats, vegetables, desserts per menus and portions.
  • Monitor food temperatures and ensure safe handling and storage.
  • Portion food onto serving trays and maintain clean work areas and equipment.
  • Complete daily logs on production, temperatures, and inventories.
