Job summary

Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD) seeks a Facility Trainer for Residential Services to deliver ART, support New Hire Orientation, and guide staff on-site through OJT.

You will coach new personnel, coordinate training schedules, monitor safety systems, and liaise with TJJD and MANDT to uphold standards and professional conduct in a challenging youth-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, facilitation, and training skills.
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot training equipment.
• Develop topic expertise from State/Federal standards and HCJPD policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ART for all Residential staff and update curriculum as needed.
• Facilitate Academy New Hire Orientation for Youth Development Officers.
• Provide On-The-Job training on policies, safety, documentation, and duties.
• Serve as MANDT liaison to enhance deescalation and safety techniques; attend staff meetings.
• Provide coaching sessions and evaluate new staff at 90 days.
• Develop training schedules for transfers and new hires.
• Perform weekly camera system checks to ensure operation.
• Coordinate with TJJD and obtain documents related to investigations.
