Job summary

Oklahoma AG in Oklahoma is seeking an Assistant District Attorney for the Juvenile Division (District 23) to prosecute juvenile cases across Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties. The role involves handling arraignments, pre-trial hearings, and trials, with collaboration among law enforcement, prosecutors, and victims’ families.

The Juvenile ADA operates under the District Attorney and requires a JD, admitted Oklahoma bar, and strong skills in advocacy, analysis, and writing.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Oklahoma Bar Association license to practice in OK (active/good standing).
• Familiarity with juvenile law strongly preferred.
• Excellent oral advocacy, legal analysis and legal writing skills.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities.
• Knowledge of state and federal statutes, constitutional law, and trial procedures.

Responsibilities

• Represent the State of Oklahoma in juvenile prosecutions in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties.
• Attend meetings with police, victims, and community partners.
• Review charging decisions and recommend changes as needed.
• Interview witnesses and manage discovery and case preparation.
• Appear in juvenile and possibly adult court as required.
• Travel weekly to the Shawnee and Chandler courthouses as needed.
