Job summary

220 DISTRICT ATTORNEYS COUNCIL is seeking an Assistant District Attorney for the Juvenile Division covering Pottawatomie County (Shawnee) and Lincoln County (Chandler). This role prosecutes juvenile cases including deprived, delinquent, and youthful offender matters.

The ADA will work under the District Attorney for the 23rd Judicial District, require strong advocacy, legal research, and collaboration with partners, and may travel to courthouses as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to and in good standing with Oklahoma Bar Association.
• Familiarity with juvenile law preferred.
• Excellent oral advocacy, legal analysis and writing skills.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of statutes, regulations, and trial procedures.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Represent the State in juvenile court proceedings for Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties.
• Handle arraignments, pre-trial hearings, and evidentiary motions.
• Lead jury and bench trials as lead counsel when required.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, victims, defense, and court personnel.
• Review charging decisions and provide recommendations; prepare memoranda.
