Job summary

Samuel, Son & Co. is seeking a welder for on-site work in Tucson, AZ. You will perform welding on assigned jobs, review your welds for size and penetration, and coordinate with project leads and QC to resolve issues.

The role requires setup and operation of welding equipment and may include grinding, drilling, and mounting assistance. Candidates should have 1 year of 2/3G welding experience (2–3 years preferred) and be able to read blueprints.

Qualifications

• 2/3G welding certification required; 6G preferred.
• 1 year welding at a 2/3G level; 2-3 years preferred.
• Ability to operate semi-automated weld process and set-up.
• Read and interpret blueprints and part layouts to ensure dimensions.
• Ability to safely rig work pieces and operate lifts.
• Comfort with grinding and needle scaling.
• Piping experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welds on jobs as assigned.
• Periodically reviews welding to ensure adequate weld size and penetration.
• Discusses problems with lead person, project manager or QC department.
• Performs setup and operation of all machinery assigned.
• Performs other duties: grinding, fit-up, drilling, shearing, or assisting others.
• Keeps work areas clean and safe; maintains tools and consumables.
