Job summary

Samuel, Son & Co. seeks a qualified Welder to perform welds on scheduled jobs and ensure quality with proper size and penetration. The role involves setup and operation of machinery, routine grinding and fit-up tasks, and adherence to safety and ITAR requirements.

Candidates should have 2/3G certification, 1 year of experience at 2/3G level (2-3 years preferred), and ability to read blueprints. May involve field work and lifting duties in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• 2/3G certification required; 6G certification preferred.
• 1 year welding at a 2/3G level; 2-3 years’ experience preferred.
• Demonstrate ability to with semi-automated weld process and set-up.
• Understands blueprints and part layouts; works with leads/managers to ensure part dimensions.
• Ability to rig work pieces safely.
• Able to enter/exit/operate man-lifts and scissor lifts safely.
• Must be able to perform grinding and needle scaling as needed.
• Piping experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welds on jobs as assigned.
• Periodically reviews welds to ensure adequate size and penetration.
• Discusses problems with a lead person, project manager or QC.
• Performs setup and operation of all machinery assigned.
• Performs grinding, fit-up, drilling, shearing or assisting others.
• Maintains clean and safe working areas.
• Obtains correct consumables/tools from Tool Room Attendant; maintains tools.
• Gives feedback to project manager or job lead about conditions or issues.
• Looks for ways to increase efficiency and quality while following procedures.
• May perform field work as necessary.
