You will build a solid foundation by applying standard techniques under experienced staff supervision, while gaining the skills and confidence to advance your career in transportation planning, engineering and design.

You’ll participate in a broad range of projects, learn new tools, and contribute to analysis, reporting, and public outreach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or in-progress master’s in transportation, civil or related field.
• Strong coursework in transportation, planning, geography, math, statistics, economics or related subjects.
• Experience or exposure to transportation topics: field work, planning, operations, safety, and forecasting.
• Familiarity with software and tools listed under Tools section.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and proactive communication.
• Genuine curiosity about transportation and community travel challenges.
• Interpersonal skills, collaboration, and creative problem-solving.
• Organizational skills and ability to balance priorities within timelines.
• Experience with technical writing and public speaking.
• Openness to learning new technologies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Conduct transportation analysis and prepare reports, memos, and other deliverables.
• Participate in meetings, including preparing presentations and public outreach materials.
• Support project coordination and management activities.
• Engage with professional organizations and industry activities.
• Conduct site visits and collect field data.
• Explore opportunities to contribute to Fehr & Peers R&D program.
• Learn and adopt new tools and technologies to enhance daily work.
