Job summary

Brooksource seeks an entry-level Control Automation Engineer to join the Automation Engineering team. You will help analyze processes, prototype automation using platform-native capabilities, scripting, and APIs; create clear process maps and documentation; and support ongoing software releases in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

You will work with ServiceNow IRMS, Archer ERMS, and Visio as you contribute to scalable self-service solutions and cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position requiring curiosity, drive, organization, and learning ability.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in MIS, Cybersecurity, CS, or Data Analytics.
• Experience with automation, scripting, and workflow development is preferred.

Job description

The Control Automation Engineer will work as part of the larger Control Automation Engineering team to ensure adherence to a variety of controls related to risk remediation spanning the Technology organization, while helping to ensure consistency with company strategy and goals.

Detailed Description:

This role is an entry level position requiring the individual be curious, driven, well-organized, and to possess strong learning abilities. They must be self-motivated, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and complete tasks on agreed schedules. The team will look to this individual to assist in software releases on an on-going basis and help execute the tasks and activities of the broader team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and re-engineer existing processes to improve clarity, efficiency, scalability, and readiness for automation.
• Design and prototype automation solutions using platform-native capabilities, scripting, APIs, and workflow tools.
• Develop process maps and technical documentation clearly connecting requirements, system interactions, decision points, and execution steps.
• Establish repeatable engineering practices reducing manual effort and support scalable self-service solutions.
• Participate in the analysis and review of overarching initiative deliverables.
• May lead small initiatives and projects.
• Update / maintain information as needed in ServiceNow IRMS and Archer ERMS.
• Schedule and facilitate meetings.
• Actively communicate with team members and leadership.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• 0 to 2 years of software engineering, cyber, or risk experience with a bachelor’s degree (Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Data Analytics) or equivalent transferable experience through coursework, internships or work experience in lieu of participation in the Elevate Program.

Skills:

• Demonstrated engineering mindset and structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to break complex processes into clear, implementable components.
• Experience with automation, scripting, workflow development, data analysis, or systems integration using tools such as Python, Power Automate, APIs, or comparable technologies.
• Ability to create process maps, solution designs, technical requirements, and implementation documentation that are clear and usable.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, including the ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions and work across multiple teams.
• Strong experience with MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Strong business and technology aptitude with demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn business and technology processes and solutions.
• Ability to manage tasks effectively, meet deadlines and stay organized with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with team members and stakeholders when sharing updates and presenting work in team settings.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with Archer ERMS is a plus.
• Experience to ServiceNow IRM is a plus.
• Experience with Visio or other processing mapping tools.
