S. Rothschild & Co., Inc. in New York is seeking an energetic Assistant Technical Designer to support fit, pattern, and technical execution across Women’s categories—including wovens, knits, sweaters, outerwear, bottoms, denim, and swimwear.

You will participate in live fittings, help build tech packs, and assist with overseas vendor communications to keep development on track and production calendars on schedule. This role offers broad exposure across multi-category womenswear.

Qualifications

Education in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Production, or Patternmaking.
0–2 years of apparel technical design experience or relevant internships.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator).
Understanding of garment construction, sewing operations, and knit/swim fabrics.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication for overseas factory correspondence.

Responsibilities

Sample Preparation & Specing: measure samples vs tech pack specs and document discrepancies.
Fit Session Support: assist during live fit sessions and take measurements and notes.
Tech Pack Maintenance: build and update tech packs with POM, BOM, construction details and sketches.
Vendor Correspondence: draft fit correction comments and share photos and charts with overseas factories.
Sample Tracking: log and track samples to meet development and production calendars.
