Job summary

KBR's National Security Solutions team in Chantilly, VA seeks a Junior Systems Engineer (Digital Engineering Methodology) to support MBSE/digital engineering initiatives on-site. A TS/SCI clearance with poly is required for consideration.

Responsibilities include supporting MBSE methods, delivering foundational DE approaches, and ensuring alignment with enterprise-level engineering processes. Bachelor's in STEM and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current/active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 0 years of experience.
• Foundational understanding of systems engineering principles and familiarity with Digital Engineering (DE)/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Basic understanding of data concepts and technologies such as relational databases, ontology, Unified Architecture Framework (UAF) or Systems Modeling Language (SysML).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced systems engineering staff under supervision with Digital Engineering (DE) processes and methods for enterprise-wide adoption based on industry best practices and trends.
• Apprentice to experienced MBSE practitioners and support them in their effort to enable modernization of systems engineering and acquisition leveraging MBSE.
• Under supervision, deliver foundational digital engineering (DE) approaches that ensure the engineering and MS&A processes are met.
• Assist technical teams and leadership in the implementation of MBSE methods and techniques.
• Assist in developing and supporting enterprise level digital engineering approaches, ensuring that models, data, and information are accessible, interconnected, and structured to support organizational goals.
• Ensure that systems engineering and MS&A processes covered in the SOW requirements are followed.
