ManTech seeks a highly motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC. This is an onsite position.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing Systems Engineering support to the IWS 80 Technical Director and customers in support of combat systems development and integration of the Ships Self Defense System (SSDS) on US Navy Aircraft Carriers and Amphibious ships.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop briefing materials, meeting agendas, minutes, and track resolution of action items
Directly support the Technical Director in development and management of programmatic areas including RIOs (Risk/Issue/Opportunities), and System Engineering documentation.
Develop leadership-level Power BI-driven Dashboards, developing user-friendly Excel worksheets for government to input data. Utilize the Power BI Dashboards to provide Government customer high-level data analysis.
Work independently and advise Government customer personnel on a wide range of Naval Combat systems engineering matters regarding testing and/or certification. Be able to track systems integration at the Combat Systems level (e.g., sensors, missiles, track management, etc.). Be able to identify and perform root cause analysis of discrepancies between planned and achieved.
Identify, report, and assist with the resolution of technical programmatic issues regarding the introduction of new/updating capabilities and correctly interfacing them from both a physical (i.e., connections) and logical (i.e., message flow) perspective.
Travel up to 10%
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
1+ year of relevant engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Active-duty Navy experience with SSDS ships
Clearance Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active or current Secret Security Clearance
Physical Requirements:
The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
