Charles IT in Stamford, CT is seeking a Jr Systems Administrator to join our growing team. You will be the first line of support, handling tickets and laying the foundation for more advanced responsibilities.

You will work across Windows, Linux, and macOS, manage user accounts using Active Directory, assist with software installs, and help with basic networking and documentation. Strong communication and an independent work ethic are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in MSP or IT support.
• Certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Server+, CySA+, MS-900, AZ-900, ISC2 Cybersecurity.
• Strong communication skills are essential.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, client-focused team.
• Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Support Windows, Linux, and macOS.
• Manage user accounts with Active Directory.
• Assist with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Provide basic networking support (IP configuration, DNS, VPN).
• Configure, install, and support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and IT teams for repairs, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Provide timely, professional support to end users.
• Communicate clearly and explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Maintain accurate documentation and time entries.
• Build strong relationships with clients and ensure high satisfaction.
• Handle user concerns calmly and professionally, including de-escalation.
• Other duties as assigned.
