Charles IT is seeking a Jr Systems Administrator to join a growing IT team in Providence. You will handle first-level tickets, set up user accounts and devices, and troubleshoot basic issues to keep the IT infrastructure running smoothly.

The role emphasizes strong communication, multitasking, and the ability to work with clients in a fast-paced MSP environment. A degree in CS/IT and 2+ years' experience are required; certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in MSP, internal IT, or a similar technical support setting.
• Preferred certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Server+, CySA+, MS-900, AZ-900, ISC2 Cybersecurity.
• Strong communication skills are essential for success in this role.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, client-focused team.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Support operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and macOS.
• Manage user accounts using Active Directory.
• Assist with software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Provide basic networking support (IP configuration, DNS, VPN).
• Configure, install, and support desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and IT teams for repairs, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Provide timely, professional support to end users.
• Communicate clearly and explain technical issues to non-technical users.
• Maintain accurate documentation and time entries.
• Build strong relationships with clients and ensure high satisfaction.
• Handle user concerns calmly and professionally, including de-escalation.

Due to growth, we are currently seeking to add a Jr Systems Administrator to our exceptional team. The Jr Systems Administrator is responsible for taking the first level tickets once escalated to the team. In thisrole it is vital in ensuring the IT infrastructure runs smoothly while building a foundation for more advanced responsibilities in the future.In this role, you'll primarily focus onsetting/decom user accounts and computersandtroubleshoot basic day to day tickets with the first level of support, making a significant impact on our team.
