Job summary

Pike Engineering in Florida seeks a Substation Protection & Control Engineer to provide design, engineering, technical support, and project oversight for transmission substation, battery energy storage, and solar collector substation projects. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent validated by ABET or NCEES evaluation
• 0–2 years of engineering experience
• Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles

Responsibilities

• Understand protection and control fundamentals for substation and transmission equipment
• Design protection schemes for substation and transmission line equipment
• Understand SCADA communication design
• Develop protection and control design for facilities up to 500 kV including schematics and wiring
• Perform studies and create reports for coordination, voltage drop, fault current, insulation coordination
• Interpret specifications and implement on engineering drawings
• Site visits to advise on P&C issues and modify design during construction
