Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Substation Mechanical Engineer for our Billings, MT office. In this role you will join the Billings Substation Team to design and support mechanical systems for power delivery projects, contributing to a growing, client-focused firm.

Required is a BS in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, 0–1 year of experience, strong English communication, and willingness to relocate to Billings with minimal assistance. EIT/FE is preferred.

Qualifications

• BSME or BSMET degree from an accredited university.
• 0-1 years of experience.
• Relocation to Billings, MT with minimal assistance.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• EIT or FE exam/certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform the detailed design of low to extra-high voltage substations including one-line diagrams, station layouts, sections/elevations, and plans.
• Support QA/QC for deliverables to clients.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and project policies while collaborating with team members.
• Learn, understand, and adhere to client standards and processes on complex designs.
