Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Substation Electrical Engineer for our Billings, MT office. You will contribute to the Billings Substation Team by assisting with detailed designs for low to extra-high voltage substations, while learning and applying industry standards.

The role emphasizes QA/QC support, collaboration with the department, and adherence to WSP’s safety and conduct policies. Relocation is not available for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or master degree in electrical engineering with power option preferred.
• 0-1 years of experience in electrical engineering or related internship/co-op.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals to support design work.
• Candidate should be willing to relocate to Billings, MT with minimal assistance.
• Proficiency in written and verbal English for coordination with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist in detailed design of low to high voltage substations including one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and ground grid design.
• Support QA/QC of deliverables to clients and ensure conformance with client standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams to meet project goals and schedules.
• Travel as required by project needs and adhere to safety policies.
