Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors in Columbus, Ohio seeks an entry‑level Civil/Structural Engineer to perform routine designs under direct supervision. You will develop layouts, estimate levels, and ensure compliance with codes and project criteria.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree (B.S. or M.S.) and may hold an EIT with up to 1 year of relevant experience, plus familiarity with CAD tools like AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering required.
• Structural coursework required for structural positions.
• EIT registration strongly preferred.
• Up to 1 year of civil/structural engineering experience.
• Knowledge of IBC and related standards (ASCE/AISC/ACI).
• Knowledge of civil/structural software and CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine designs of less complex engineering assignments under direct supervision.
• Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies to determine efficient approaches.
• Produce preliminary designs, material take-offs, and estimates.
• Check calculations for accuracy and compliance with codes and specs.
• Review vendor drawings and construction submittals for conformance.
• Support drafting group and coordinate with design leaders across disciplines.
