DSPolitical is seeking an accounting support role in Washington, DC with a remote-friendly hybrid setup. The position handles AP/AR, data entry, month-end tasks, payroll support, and audits, offering a base salary range of $55,000 to $65,000 plus benefits.

The ideal candidate has 0–2 years in accounting, strong Excel/Sheets skills, and solid attention to detail. This is a full-time role with opportunities for growth and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; Net or ERP exposure a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing, including invoice entry, vendor payments, and client receipts.
• Record financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
• Assist with month-end close tasks under supervision.
• Maintain organized financial files and supporting documentation.
• Respond to internal inquiries related to invoices, payments, and receipts.
• Support payroll processing by collecting timesheets and validating data.
• Assist with audits by providing requested documentation.
• Expense reports completed accurately and submitted timely.
• Communicates clearly and effectively in written or oral form with colleagues.
• Seeks guidance when needed to ensure accuracy.
• Manages individual tasks with oversight and guidance.
• Meets internal deadlines and escalates challenges promptly.
• Demonstrates developing awareness of timelines and deliverables.
• Perform other administrative and financial duties as assigned.
