Job description

The Junior Staff Accountant will be responsible for supporting the accounting department with various tasks related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting. The ideal candidate will have experience in the real estate/property industry and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Reconcile AP accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in the preparation of AP reports and maintain accurate records.
  • Manage customer invoices and ensure timely collections.
  • Reconcile AR accounts and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Prepare AR aging reports and assist in the resolution of billing issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting.
  • Experience in the real estate/property industry is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
