Job summary

Astound is seeking a Junior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our IT Infrastructure team in Washington. You will assist in the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of Microsoft SQL Server databases while gaining experience with Oracle database environments.

You will work closely with the Director of IT, application teams, and system engineers to ensure database performance, availability, security, and reliability, and you will contribute to enterprise data

Qualifications

2 Years Experience with SQL Server Databases.
Basic understanding of relational database concepts and database architecture.
Familiarity with Oracle Databases.
Basic knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments.

Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in development, test, and production environments.
Perform routine database administration within Microsoft SQL Server - backups, restores, integrity checks, and index maintenance.
Assist with Microsoft SQL Server provisioning, configuration, and patch management.
Monitor Microsoft SQL Server database performance and help identify bottlenecks or optimization opportunities.
Troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server database connectivity and performance issues.
Assist with administration and monitoring of Oracle Database environments.
