UC San Francisco is seeking a Junior Specialist to support translational head and neck cancer research. You will apply computational and experimental methods to analyze genomic and transcriptomic data and perform core laboratory work including cell culture and biochemistry experiments.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in bioinformatics or a related field and has experience with R or Python, plus prior lab experience and the ability to work both independently and in teams.

The Junior Specialist will support translational head and neck cancer research through computational and experimental approaches. Responsibilities include analyzing genomic and transcriptomic datasets; performing molecular biology and biochemistry experiments, including cell culture, protein and nucleic acid analyses; assisting with in vivo procedures; documenting results; and generating figures and reports.
See Table 24B for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $57,000 - $60,700.
