Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Subject Matter Expert to join the Space Systems Integration Office at Space Systems Command in Los Angeles AFB, El Segundo, CA. The role requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and extensive engineering and modeling experience.

You will lead cross-disciplinary teams, develop mission-specific MS&S capabilities, and ensure rigorous validation and verification of models used for space systems analysis and decision-making.

Qualifications

• BS in a relevant STEM field required.
• MS in a relevant STEM field required.
• 15+ years in a STEM field with emphasis in engineering/science.
• Experience designing and delivering complex technical systems within the SSIO mission space.
• Proficiency in systems engineering and at least one implementation technology.
• Technical program leadership of a technical implementation team.
• Proven leadership and team development experience.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Top Secret Security Clearance w/SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Support SSIO with mission-specific M&S services, algorithms and scenario outcomes.
• Trace requirements from Mission Areas to MS&S simulations.
• Model materiel solutions to evaluate performance, survivability and resilience.
• Develop and maintain MS&A V&V procedures and tools.
• Conduct V&V of models used by SSC/SSIO; support government models.
• Assist with JCIDS documentation and enterprise requirements.
• Analyze cross-cutting space requirements related to simulation outcomes.
• Prepare briefings, technical reports and roadmaps.
• Collaborate with SWAC, CSRO/S5R and PEO offices to prioritize M&S for space systems.
