Job summary

KBR's National Security Solutions team is seeking a Junior Software QA Engineer in California. You will join a systems engineering group focusing on space communications and national security projects, contributing to automated testing, performance and security assessments, and cross-functional collaboration with developers and stakeholders.

Your work supports SE&I activities for the MILSATCOM systems, interfacing with US Space Force customers and government teammates.

Qualifications

• Secret clearance required.
• BS degree in Computer Science or Information Systems; relevant work experience may be considered with other degrees.
• 1–3 years of software development including QA, with focus on QA methodologies, tools and processes.
• Solid understanding of test development and test execution.
• Working knowledge of performance testing, security testing, and usability testing.
• Proficiency in one or more of Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with automated testing tools like Selenium or Cypress.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and test software prototypes and applications as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, and QA teams to understand requirements.
• Maintain automated testing suites, test plans, cases, scripts and reports.
• Identify defects, report and provide details on occurrences.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct performance testing to ensure applications handle expected loads.
• Work with complex algorithms to deliver optimized solutions.
