Job summary

KBR is seeking a senior software engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy software for high-assurance defense systems supporting GED and related offices. You will collaborate across hardware, software, and data teams to deliver integrated solutions aligning with IC/DoD requirements.

This contingent role spans requirements analysis, prototyping, and mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced environment, using Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket-Git for Agile workflows.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering or related field.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification.
• 10+ years in software development with DevOps experience.
• Experience with JavaScript/Web Services (ReactJS).
• Container-based development experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for engineering applications.
• Define software requirements and obtain customer approval.
• Translate requirements into design and create prototypes.
• Lead Agile tooling adoption (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git).
• Improve performance and address software discrepancies.
• Assist with on-site customer meetings and deliveries.
• Lead junior engineers and mentor teammates.
• Produce documentation and ensure maintainability.
