Job summary

KBR Mission Technology Solutions in Utah is seeking a Jr. Software Engineer to design, develop, implement, maintain, and test software for scientific and engineering applications.

The role requires strong coding skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams on mission-critical systems. You will contribute to software requirements, testing, and documentation, ensure adherence to mission standards, and participate in engineering test strategies.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain CI Polygraph.
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field and 0-3 years of experience, or AA with 3 years of related experience; in lieu of formal education, 10 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Create prototypes and perform internal testing of software products.
• Respond to software discrepancies against documented requirements and provide resolution.
• Determine software maintainability and adherence to user requirements.
• Generate program design language and code based on mission standards.
• Generate/update project documents.
• Analyze and evaluate systems and devise computer specifications for scientific/engineering applications.
• Encode, test, debug, and install operating programs and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers on the design, development, and utilization of scientific/engineering electronic data processing systems software.
• Provide analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of software for products such as utility software, development software, and diagnostic software.
• Participates in the development of engineering test strategies, devices and systems.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
