Job summary

KBR's National Security Solutions team seeks a Sr. Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and deploy software for critical national security systems.

You will lead a team of engineers, work across hardware, software, and data analytics, and implement Agile practices with Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket/Git. Ideal candidates have a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, 10+ years in software development, strong Java/C/C++/Python skills, and hands-on experience with containerized and cloud-based

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
• DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher: (CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, CCNA OR SSCP)
• 10+ years of software development experience including DevOps practices: CI/CD, containerization, orchestration, configuration management, security, cloud tech.
• Experience with Web Services and JavaScript (ReactJS).
• Container-based application development experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Supervisory experience leading engineers.
• Hands-on experience with Java, C/C++, and/or Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software for scientific/engineering applications.
• Define system and software requirements and obtain customer approval.
• Analyze requirements and translate into design; create prototypes.
• Implement Agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket/Git) for collaboration.
• Lead junior engineers and resolve software discrepancies.
• Generate program design language and code per standards.
• Explore new areas or languages to deliver complete products.
• Support on-site meetings and deliveries to customers.
