Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support a GEOINT mission under an IC customer. You will work with senior engineers in an Agile team to develop, test, and deploy software, using REST APIs, containers, and CI/CD in a secure environment.

You will gain hands‑on experience across front‑ and back‑end technologies, cloud platforms, and modern development tools while contributing to production deployments and documentation. Multiple U.S. locations may be supported.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required per contract.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Master’s with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JSON, Ajax, and REST APIs.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Frontend and backend frameworks: React, Angular, Vue.js, jQuery, Spring Boot, Django, Node.js, Flask, or Svelte.
• Cloud development: AWS, Azure, or similar platforms.
• Relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server.
• Operating systems: Windows, Linux.
• Version control: Git.
• Understanding of modern software design patterns and coding standards.
• Experience deploying, testing, and delivering software with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with RMF, STIGs, and government accreditation processes.
• Interest in learning new languages, tools, and technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, test, and deploy software solutions under guidance of senior engineers.
• Implement features based on requirements and technical designs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests.
• Troubleshoot defects and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Support integration of application components and services.
• Work with REST APIs, databases, and application services.
• Participate in agile sprints and attend daily stand‑ups, planning, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with mission users and product managers to refine requirements.
