Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join the Chinook Program supporting an Intelligence Community customer and helping evolve an application that plays a key role in national security. You will work with experienced engineers in an Agile team, gaining hands-on experience while progressively owning software components and features.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship required per contract.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field with 2–4 years of experience, or Master’s with less than 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, test, and deploy software solutions under guidance of senior engineers.
• Implement features based on requirements and technical designs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews and integrate feedback from seniors.
• Develop and run unit and integration tests.
• Troubleshoot defects and assist with root-cause analysis.
• Support integration of components and services.
• Work with REST APIs, databases, and application services.
• Participate in agile sprints, stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with mission users and product managers to refine requirements.
• Use Git and CI/CD processes to deliver software.
• Maintain technical docs and development artifacts.
• Support deployment and sustainment for the application.
• Build secure, containerized apps using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Support DevSecOps pipelines and meet accreditation standards.
