Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking an entry-level software engineer to design, develop, test, and deliver scalable software solutions across the Vizient platform.

You will collaborate with product managers, architects, data scientists, and engineers to deliver incremental value while embracing AI-assisted development practices. You will contribute to backend and frontend components, work with relational databases like PostgreSQL, and participate in testing, reviews, and continuous improvement efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• 0 to two years of professional software engineering experience, including internships or co-ops.
• Foundational knowledge of software development, OOP, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with Java or another OO language.
• Familiarity with React, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, REST APIs, and Git.
• Understanding of testing, secure coding, and incremental delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain applications, services, APIs, and UIs under experienced guidance.
• Translate requirements and designs into clean, maintainable code.
• Contribute to backend services using Java, Spring Boot, or similar tech.
• Contribute to frontend web apps using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar.
• Develop and consume REST APIs and support event-driven integrations.
• Work with PostgreSQL and basic data modeling / queries.
• Write unit, integration, API, and end-to-end tests.
• Participate in debugging, code reviews, and backlog refinement.
• Contribute to security, observability, performance, and reliability.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly with oversight.
• Follow repository guidelines, standards, and Software Factory practices.
• Ask questions, seek feedback, and collaborate with stakeholders.
