Vizient, Inc. is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, develop, and deliver scalable software with a focus on AI-enabled workflows. You will collaborate with product managers, architects, data scientists, and engineers to deliver incremental, testable solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong experience developing production software using Java and Spring Boot or comparable backend technology.
Experience building modern web applications using React and TypeScript or comparable frontend technologies.
Demonstrated experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and distributed services.
Experience with PostgreSQL, including data modeling, query development, and performance optimization.
Experience with cloud-native development and deployment.
Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and source‑control workflows.
Understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, secure coding, and data protection.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable applications, services, APIs, and user experiences.
Build cohesive solutions that support the movement of information, decisions, workflows, and actions across business processes.
Create platform capabilities that support consistent, traceable, and data-informed decisions.
Develop secure REST APIs and event-driven integrations using appropriate messaging and Kafka-based patterns.
Help develop AI-enabled and agentic systems that improve how users understand information, make decisions, identify actions, and manage work.
Write unit, integration, API, and end-to-end tests.
Contribute to observability, accessibility, security, performance, and operational readiness.
Participate in technical design, refinement, code reviews, demonstrations, and continuous improvement.
Use AI‑assisted development tools responsibly and validate generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and performance.
Contribute to repository guidance, reusable engineering patterns, technical documentation, and the Software Factory workflow.
Mentor other engineers and promote consistent engineering practices across the workstream.
