Job summary

Amentum seeks a junior software engineer to join a small team focused on processing mission data and building analytics tools. You will develop, test, and integrate software with customer-provided AI tools, collaborating closely with one software developer and a signals analyst.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday with flexible start/end times. Requires a Bachelor's in CS or related field and 1 year of relevant experience; TS/SCI with poly clearance is required for this position.

Qualifications

• 2 years of software development experience primarily in Java.
• Minimal Linux administration experience.
• Minimal scripting/Ansible/Puppet experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems (e.g. analytics, large data handling, real-time systems) from documented requirements.
• Review and test software components for adherence to design requirements and document test results.
• Resolve software problem reports and participate in design and requirements synthesis from system level to components.
• Provide input on hardware/software trade-offs, reuse, and integration into new environments.
• Recommend improvements to documentation and software development process standards.
