Amentum is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Advanced Analytics Team to analyze software requirements, design innovative solutions, and develop high-performance applications supporting advanced mission objectives.

The role emphasizes algorithm development, low-level programming, and tooling for binary analysis and reverse engineering, with a strong emphasis on Python, C/C++, and Assembly expertise for OS-level work.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages and debugging.
• Experience with software engineering and technical design activities.
• Ability to analyze and understand legacy code.
• Develop efficient algorithms using data structures, dynamic programming, heuristics, and modeling techniques.
• Experience with OS-level development, including file I/O and system interfaces.
• Ability to read and understand C/C++ and Assembly as well as Python.
• Knowledge of software architecture, OS design, compilers, and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and maintain software applications supporting mission requirements.
• Analyze customer needs, develop software prototypes, engineer technical solutions, implement algorithms, and translate designs into scalable architectures.
