Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort in Palmerton, PA seeks energetic teen assistants for the Snow Sports programs. The role supports lead instructors, helps with children's lessons, and ensures a safe, fun outdoor experience.

Candidates aged 14–16, with a love of the outdoors and a willingness to learn, will gain mentorship, training, and a seasonal pass plus discounts.

Qualifications

  • Between ages 14 and 16 years old.
  • Excitement to assist a lead instructor in teaching Snow Sports lessons.
  • A strong enthusiasm for the outdoors and recreation
  • The ideal candidate is available to work between Christmas and New Years, both weekend days and holiday Mondays in Januaryand February.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and guests through positive interpersonal skills and work to further developthose skills.
  • Willing to work in various types of inclement weather.
  • Excitement and ability to attend training sessions for both professional and personal development.
  • Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
  • Ability to ski/ride green terrain comfortably and under control or willing to learn!

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with Children’s Programs lessons to share fun and engaging outdoor experiences.
  • Upholding the highest levels of guest and employee safety.
  • Improving your skiing, riding, teaching, and interpersonal skills through observations and application of continued training.
  • Receive mentorship from experienced instructors while helping with children’s lessons.
  • Assisting in operational responsibilities of Ski & Ride programs and teaching areas including but not limited to greeting,registration processing, equipment fitting, setup, upkeep, and breakdown of outdoor and indoor teaching areas, overallcleanliness of facilities, and assisting supervisory staff members as necessary.
  • Consistently modeling and assisting in enforcing all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Participation in the PSIA-AASI Junior Instructor Program is optional but encouraged.
