Job summary

AEP Texas Company, Inc. is seeking an entry-level apprentice to support service work on transmission and distribution facilities in Texas.

You will assist with installation, maintenance, and repairs, operate line trucks and equipment, and respond to trouble calls under supervision. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and physical ability to work at heights and lift heavy objects.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• No prior work experience required.
• Line or Service Mechanic Certification is beneficial but not required.
• Valid state driver license is required; CDL may be required before probation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in performing service work on overhead/underground transmission and distribution facilities.
• Operate equipment, climb poles and structures under supervision.
• Respond to trouble calls and assist crews to diagnose and clear issues.
• Maintain tools and work area in a safe, orderly condition.
• Attend training and help with installation, removal, and maintenance tasks.
