Sentinel Security Solutions Inc is seeking a motivated Security Systems Helper Technician to join our Arroyo Grande, CA team. This entry-level role offers hands-on learning in the security industry and a path toward advanced technician responsibilities.

You will assist with installation, wiring, and setup of security systems, cameras, and access control, while running low-voltage cabling on diverse job sites and maintaining professional communications with clients.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in low‑voltage, electrical, or security systems installation is a plus but not required.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and general construction practices.
• Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, and on ladders.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and willingness to learn on the job.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Good communication skills and a customer-friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead technicians with the installation, wiring, and setup of security systems, cameras, and access control equipment
• Run and terminate low‑voltage cabling throughout residential and commercial job sites
• Mount and position security cameras, motion detectors, door/window sensors, and control panels
• Support troubleshooting and service calls for existing security system repairs and upgrades
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and properly handle tools and equipment
• Communicate professionally with customers on job sites and represent the company with integrity
• Complete job site documentation and assist with inventory and equipment staging
