Job summary

LONG Building Technologies is seeking an Apprentice Security Technician to support installation, servicing, and maintenance of security solutions at customer sites and remote locations. The role includes hands-on training across IP and analog security systems, and travel to multiple sites to gain experience with a variety of projects.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience with IP-based networking or electronic security systems.
• Entry-level knowledge of basic electricity such as AC/DC theory, Ohm's law, and reading a digital volt/ohm meter.
• Basic knowledge of IP-based and electronic security systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation, servicing, and maintenance of IP and analog security systems (access control, video management, intrusion, IP intercoms, mass comms).
• Support development of project documentation by providing input for accurate as-built drawings.
• Assist with troubleshooting, documenting, and installing low-voltage systems.
• Attend construction meetings as required for projects.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and specs to determine installation procedures.
• Learn current and emerging technologies to deliver effective client solutions.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Attend and perform training functions as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
