Job summary

Thomas & Hutton in the Southeast is seeking a Transportation Designer Engineer in Training to grow your career shaping infrastructure. You'll work on roadway and transportation design projects, mentored by experienced engineers, and join a private employee-owned firm known as a Top Workplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in transportation design projects.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MicroStation V8 and InRoads or GEOPAK.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read engineering plans and perform basic calculations.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction drawings, layouts, and exhibits per GDOT and SCDOT guidelines.
• Perform geometric calculations and estimate construction quantities using CADD tools.
• Assist with design and development of transportation improvement projects.
• Coordinate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery.
• Produce and refine design files ensuring accuracy and adherence to project standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support transportation projects.
