Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Transportation Project Engineer to lead roadway and corridor design across the Southeast. You will collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams while owning projects from concept to construction.

The role requires a PE license and 5+ years in transportation engineering, with strong skills in MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and related software. On-site, competitive compensation, and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering and roadway design experience.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK and/or InRoads.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform transportation design for roadway, intersection, and corridor projects.
• Prepare calculations, roadway plans, quantity estimates, technical reports, and construction documents.
• Lead permitting efforts with FDOT, GDOT, and other jurisdictions.
• Develop technical specifications and bid documents for transportation projects.
• Manage project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams.
• Perform construction administration including site visits and coordination with contractors.
• Utilize MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and InRoads to develop designs.
