Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a Civil Transportation Engineer to support roadway design projects across the Southeast. You will prepare drawings, perform geometric calculations, and collaborate with project managers to deliver quality plan sets.

This role emphasizes technical proficiency with MicroStation V8, InRoads or GEOPAK, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, and requires strong communication and multitasking capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience on transportation design projects.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Knowledge of MicroStation V8 and InRoads or GEOPAK.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Ability to read engineering plans and perform basic calculations.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction drawings, layouts, and exhibits per GDOT/SC DOT guidelines.
• Perform geometric calculations and estimate construction quantities using CADD tools.
• Assist with transportation improvement project design and development.
• Coordinate with project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Produce and refine design files ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Perform other duties to support transportation projects.
