Job summary

Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA seeks an enthusiastic assistant real-time embedded engineer to work on safety-critical embedded software. You will work closely with bare-metal systems, RTOSes, FPGAs, and embedded Linux, and develop tools and processes for complex government software challenges.

You should have a BS in CS or EE, strong C/C++, VHDL/Verilog, and Python; familiarity with CMSIS/HAL drivers and embedded interfaces; travel up to 25% and

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Experience as a software developer, verification or related field on embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, VHDL/Verilog, Python; familiarity with embedded drivers.

Responsibilities

  • Understand complex embedded systems across multiple abstraction levels.
  • Design and develop embedded software tools to analyze and test firmware.
  • Apply systems engineering to identify weaknesses in embedded functionality.
  • Use static/dynamic analysis to uncover weaknesses and security issues.
  • Conduct research and share knowledge to improve development processes.
