Job summary

Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks experienced real-time embedded engineers to work on safety-critical software across bare-metal, RTOSes, FPGAs, and embedded Linux.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams to design tools, analyze and validate embedded systems, and support DoW security requirements. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in CS/EE with 8+ years, OR MS with 5 years, OR PhD with 2 years.
• Experience working in a collaborative software team.
• Proficiency in C, C++, VHDL/Verilog, Python, and C#.
• Experience with bare-metal systems, CMSIS/HAL, and peripheral drivers.

Responsibilities

• Understand complex embedded systems across multiple abstraction levels.
• Design and develop embedded software tools to analyze and test.
• Apply systems engineering to identify weaknesses from requirements.
• Use static/dynamic analysis to find weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
• Conduct research and share knowledge to improve development processes.
