Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University is seeking an experienced real-time embedded engineer to work on safety-critical embedded software. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a variety of software and hardware systems, including embedded Linux and FPGAs, while developing tools and processes for complex engineering challenges.

You will need a strong technical background in computer science or engineering, with proficiency in languages such as C and C++, and will work onsite to deliver impactful software solutions for government and industry.

Qualifications

  • 8 years experience with a BS, 5 years with an MS, or 2 years with a PhD.
  • Experience in collaborative team environments as a software developer or engineer.
  • Experience with bare-metal systems and familiarity with CMSIS/HAL.

Responsibilities

  • Understand complex embedded systems across multiple abstraction levels.
  • Design and develop embedded software tools for evaluation.
  • Identify weaknesses in embedded functionality and communicate findings.
