Job summary

MasTec is seeking an Inspector for photovoltaic power plants in the United States. The role involves performing mechanical/electrical inspections, commissioning testing, and documenting findings with the Commissioning CM/GF.

You will assist with troubleshooting, ensure safety compliance, and support third-party inspections. Preferred candidates have PV system training and electrical experience and can work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Classroom education or training in photovoltaic systems preferred.
• Photovoltaic installation experience.
• One year of electrical experience required.
• OSHA 10-hour, First Aid/CPR, NFPA 70E certifications preferred.
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspection of PV plants according to construction documents.
• Complete all commissioning documentation during inspection.
• Document outstanding issues and deliver documentation for review.
• Assist field data entry for test data as needed.
• Perform final visual and mechanical inspections before energization date.
• Support third party testing and inspections (Transformers, MV audits, MV cable tests).
• Ensure PPE usage and safety procedures by all employees.
• Keep testing equipment clean and calibrated.
• Report missing or broken equipment and monitor consumables.
• Care for issued PPE per manufacturer specs.
• Collaborate with other Techs to ensure quality and safety.
• Other duties as assigned.
