Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Distribution Designer to design and support electric power distribution systems, contributing to grid hardening and make-ready projects. You will update design documentation, collaborate with engineers, and use tools like GDT to plan and execute tasks.

Qualifications

• 13 years of experience in distribution design or distribution engineering.
• Experience in grid hardening, make-ready, or related distribution projects.
• Foundational knowledge of power distribution concepts.
• Ability to support engineering and electrical design activities for distribution systems.
• Strong willingness to grow long-term in electric distribution.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred; 1 year experience acceptable with learning.
• Basic proficiency with distribution design tools and ability to learn GDT.

Responsibilities

• Design and support distribution systems for grid hardening and make-ready projects.
• Prepare and update distribution design documentation per engineering standards.
• Develop safe, reliable distribution solutions with the team.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure timely completion of design tasks.
• Use distribution design software and tools to support planning and execution.
• Review engineering data, field information, and system requirements.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and grow in the industry.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and deliverables.
