Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Entry Level Distribution Designer to join the Power Distribution Engineering team in Charlotte, NC. You will help develop distribution solutions, work with engineers, designers, and utility clients, and contribute to grid modernization and reliability projects.

The role blends field data collection with detailed design work, CAD and GIS usage, and potential project coordination on smaller projects.

Qualifications

• Experience in power distribution and distribution design.
• Demonstrated ability with GIS systems (Smallworld or GWD) and CAD tools (AutoCad).
• Experience working in field and office environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design work including drawings, specifications, and estimates for review by the engineer.
• Provide limited direction to Designers and Technicians; may lead on minor projects.
• Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet schedules.
• Acquire on-site field data to complete designs and monitor equipment performance.
• May serve as a Project Coordinator on certain projects.
