Job summary

Petco is seeking a Junior Pet Stylist to begin a grooming career, learning bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning and more under seasoned groomers. This ten-week training builds essential skills and sets the foundation for a future in grooming at Petco.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of animal related experience or pet-sitting
• Strong verbal and written communication with pet parents and team
• Genuine passion for animals and grooming
• Basic understanding of dog breeds and behavior
• Willingness to learn grooming practices under supervision
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Under close supervision, perform limited grooming tasks such as bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning and gland cleaning
• Ensure safety and well-being of every animal in the salon
• Interact professionally with pet parents and provide excellent customer service
• Keep grooming area and tools clean and sanitized; assist with general salon maintenance
• Schedule grooming appointments and maintain records
• Learn and adhere to Petco grooming policies and standards
