Job summary

Petco Grooming is hiring a Junior Pet Stylist to begin a ten-week training program learning bathing, drying, nail trimming, brushing, ear cleaning, and more with guidance from seasoned groomers. Competitive base pay and growth opportunities are offered.

During training and beyond, you will provide compassionate care for pets, schedule appointments, and uphold Petco’s grooming standards. Weekend/evening availability is required, with comprehensive benefits and discounts.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year experience in animal care preferred
• High-school diploma or GED preferred though not required
• Genuine passion for animals and grooming
• Basic understanding of dog breeds, behavior, and grooming practices
• Effective verbal and written communication, weekend/evening availability

Responsibilities

• Perform bathing, drying, brushing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning under supervision
• Ensure safety and well-being of animals in salon
• Provide excellent customer service to pet parents
• Maintain a clean, safe grooming area and sanitize tools
• Schedule appointments and maintain grooming records
• Follow Petco grooming policies and guidelines
