Job summary

Addison Group in Chicago is seeking a Junior Paralegal with personal injury litigation experience to join a growing firm. The role supports a high-volume caseload from the initial complaint through trial preparation, working closely with an assigned attorney to ensure timely filings and accurate discovery.

The position is direct-hire, primarily on-site for the first three months, with the possibility of remote work one day per week after onboarding.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience within personal injury.
  • Experience supporting personal injury matters from complaint through trial preparation.
  • Strong knowledge of complaint preparation and filing, service of process, written discovery, and case file management.
  • Familiarity with Illinois state and federal court procedures related to personal injury litigation.
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload while working closely with an assigned attorney.
  • Experience obtaining and reviewing medical records and bills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with an assigned attorney to support a caseload of approximately 50-100 active matters.
  • Assist with personal injury cases throughout the litigation process, from initial complaint through trial preparation.
  • Draft, prepare, and electronically file complaints, motions, pleadings, and other court documents.
  • Coordinate service of process and track important case deadlines.
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery requests and maintain related documentation.
  • Organize and maintain complete case files, ensuring documents and case information remain current and accessible.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case information, documentation, and next steps.
  • Conduct preliminary client conversations and coordinate formal attorney intake meetings.
  • Request, organize, review, and summarize medical records and billing documentation.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, litigation deadlines, hearings, appointments, and other case-related commitments.
  • Assist with discovery and trial preparation, including organizing supporting documentation and case materials.
  • Support matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, construction-related injuries, uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, and other personal injury cases.
  • Draft correspondence and assist with additional litigation-related administrative needs.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Junior Paralegal with prior personal injury litigation experience to join a growing legal team. This individual will partner closely with a designated attorney and assist with managing a high-volume caseload from the initial complaint through trial preparation.
