Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry or related field required.
• 3–7 years of experience with photonic systems and integration, electronic packaging, solder systems and reflow processes in a high-tech industry.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute experiments for developing new electronic and photonic packaging processes (join methods such as flip chip and wire bonding, reflow, optical coupling such as fiber-to-chip).
• Utilize metrology tools and reliability tests to understand and improve process performance.
• Optimize assembly processes, FMEA and root cause analysis.
• Compile and analyze data, write reports, and present results to team and management.
• Support the launch of new processes and train manufacturing personnel.
• Maintain and improve established processes and equipment; provide production support and troubleshoot issues.
• Interact with equipment vendors and process materials suppliers.
