Job summary

Monarch Quantum seeks a Photonics Engineer 3 Components to design, develop, and validate advanced photonic components for high‑performance optical systems. The role builds the manufacturing foundation from the ground up in a fast‑paced environment.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, reliability, and supply chain teams to transition designs to high‑volume production, leveraging Zemax/Code V and precision opto‑mechanical packaging.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Optical Engineering, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10+ years of experience developing photonic or optical hardware.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with optical alignment and characterization.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop photonic components (isolators, switches, fiber connectors, modulators).
• Create optical designs for free-space and fiber systems and model performance.
• Develop opto-mechanical packaging designs and alignment methods.
• Plan and execute optical testing setups and measure key parameters (insertion loss, isolation, return loss).
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Reliability, and Supply Chain to scale designs for production.
